Overview
The Hellenic Culture Centre supports your learning by organising this guided conversation course. Through a series of activities in listening and speaking at level B2 and C1 students are practising what they have learned, and at the same time learn new relevant vocabulary. Grammar and syntax rules are being taught only upon your mistakes. Students learn to use appropriate vocabulary, structure and style in order to express themselves orally according to the communicative situation.
Intended for
This special programme is addressed to:
- adults wishing improve their spoken Greek quickly and effectively
- students who live in Greece and want to understand the Greek in different everyday communication
- candidates to sit the Exam for the Certificates in Greek as an extra preparation
Methodology
The Online courses are given via the educational platform Moodle, where all relevant learning materials are uploaded (lists of thematic vocabulary, short texts, listening exercises and activities for speaking, photos, library, Forum, links to dictionaries and to videos), and via synchronous Skype meetings held once or twice weekly.
During synchronous meetings students practise listening and speaking and the teacher explains, corrects and organises their work. During the week the students study on the platform where they can do listening activities, record their voice through the platform, prepare their speaking exercises (role plays, speeches), and send all their work to their teacher, who corrects within 48 hours at most.
Self-tuition asynchronous online facilities are not available. Enrolments are only accepted for taught classes meeting for at least one hour weekly. The use of the platform is free of charge as an asynchronous mode of learning.
The goals are set together with the students and the hours and days of the lessons and homework are agreed based on their personal schedule.

NOTES:
1. To find out your level in Greek, it would be good to do one of the grading tests that you can find above, in the Grading Test button. Keep in mind that it is best to print it out and write it by hand, without seeking any help. The test is gradually becoming more difficult. So, you do not have to finish it. Then scan it and send it to us, so we can suggest you the best course option that suits your level.
2. To identify your level as well as to create your personal Learning Path, make an appointment with the Director of the Centre, Mrs. Ifigenia Georgiadou ifigenia@hcc.edu.gr here
3. You will only pay after we find the right day and time for your lesson.
